The government on one of the most recent meeting adopted a resolution on the establishment of a multi-program under the name: "The preparation and execution of euro 2012". It will enable the efficient implementation of investment necessary to make the stadiums for the final tournament of the European Championships. Funding for the programme for the period 2008-2012 will amount to a total of approximately $ 3.5 billion, about $ 1.8 billion will come from the state budget. The decision has prepared tourism and sport minister Miroslaw Drzewiecki.
According to the Government Information Communication Centre programme is to achieve stadium investments(construction, expansion and modernization) needed to carry out the final tournament of the European Football Championships EURO 2012. As highlighted, from the state budget will be financed the construction of the planned National Sports Center - the National Stadium in Warsaw and funding the construction, expansion and upgrading of stadiums in Gdansk, Poznan, Wroclaw, Chorzow and Krakow.
